FAQs and bringing Trio Garufa
Q: Can Trio Garufa team up with other musicians, artists or dancers?
Yes, sometimes. If you hire Trio Garufa for an event, please do not assume Trio Garufa will collaborate or perform together with other musicians, artists or dancers of your choosing. While this happens frequently, it remains in our sole discretion whether we will perform alongside guests and professional dancers.
Q: Do you have any sound requirements?
If we drive, we bring the sound equipment. If we fly, you will have to rent some of the equipment. The details are spelled out in our tech rider. Typically you provide three powered speakers, a small 8-channel mixer, stands and cables. We might be able to bring our mixer and some cables if necessary. Often, music stores might throw-in a mixer when you rent the speakers. The whole package is called a "PA system", where PA stands for "power amplification". So if you call a store to get a quote, just ask how much is it to rent a PA system (with two main speakers and a stage monitor, i.e. a total of three speakers). This kind of sound equipment is the standard for most bands. To get quotes you can call musical instrument stores or live sound providers in your area.
Q: How much music do you usually play in an evening?
Typically we play two 45-minute sets. There is of course flexibility around this.
Q: How much do you usually charge?
It depends on how many performances we'll play, the type of event, how far it is, whether we fly or drive, and whether extra rehearsals are needed (for example if we collaborate with an orchestra, we may need to arrive earlier and have a rehearsal). Please email us with some information about your event and we’ll be happy to send you a quote.
Thank you!
